Carus Remediation Technologies (CRT) is an environmental solutions company that offers products for in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), bioremediation, and reduction. Our RemOx® S and RemOx® L ISCO reagents (permanganate-based products) are a proven technology for treating chlorinated solvents in soil and groundwater. These single-component oxidant solutions are the preferred ISCO option for treating chlorinated solvents. Our CAP 18® and CAP 18® ME anaerobic bioremediation products are non-emulsified, soy-based, natural vegetable oils, used to stimulate anaerobic biodegradation in groundwater. These oils can provide reducing conditions for years from a single injection. Our STIMULOX® aerobic bioremediation product and IXPER® 75C Calcium Peroxide product provide an option for longterm aerobic bioremediation. STIMULOX is a blended formulation of peroxygen minerals and other compounds that slowly dissolve in groundwater, releasing oxygen, fixed nitrogen, phosphate, potassium, and other nutrients to stimulate aerobic natural degradation. IXPER provides a long-term oxygen release from calcium peroxide. Carus also offers Emulsified Zero-Valent Iron (EZVI). EZVI is an emulsion of micro-particle iron, surfactant, CAP 18 anaerobic bioremediation product, food-grade plant extracts, and water that reductively dechlorinates halogenated hydrocarbons. The Center for Sustainable Groundwater and Soil Solutions is the hub of the applied science and technology development program for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) EM-32 Office of Groundwater and Soil Remediation. The Center is managed and operated by the Savannah River National Laboratory with participation by numerous other federal and nonfederal organizations. The Center’s goal is to develop, demonstrate, and transfer technologies and strategies that address the DOE’s priority environmental risks, as well as those risks faced by private and public organizations nationally. To reach that goal, scientific and technical advances are balanced with nontechnical realities of implementation (e.g., safety, cost, stakeholder needs, sustainability, and collateral effects). A key philosophy held by Center personnel is that one should develop solutions that synergistically combine technologies, meet remedial objectives, minimize the problem, have minimal negative collateral environmental impacts, and emphasize low energy use and sustainability. srnl.doe.gov/csgss

REGENESIS is the leader in proven, cost-effective technologies for contaminated site remediation. Over the past 17 years, the Company has been a key influencer in the soil and groundwater remediation industry. Starting in 1994, REGENESIS began with a focus on the enhanced biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons and the production of a specialized form of injectable, controlled-release oxygen known as Oxygen Release Compound (ORC®). ORC and ORC Advanced® were quickly and widely adopted by environmental consultants around the world to cost-effectively treat petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated sites, in place. Moving forward, REGENESIS developed other unique in situ bioremediation technologies to treat other wide-spread contaminants including chlorinated hydrocarbons. The result was new technologies, such as 3-D Microemulsion®, Hydrogen Release Compound (HRC®) and RegenOx® in-situ chemical oxidation. To date, REGENESIS products have been successfully applied on tens of thousands of sites worldwide by professional engineering and environmental consulting firms who specialize in groundwater and soil remediation. The Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) are the Department of Defense's environmental research programs, harnessing the latest science and technology to improve DoD’s environmental performance, reduce costs, and enhance and sustain mission capabilities. SERDP and ESTCP respond to environmental technology requirements common to all of the military Services, complementing the Services’ research programs. SERDP and ESTCP promote partnerships and collaboration among academia, industry, the military Services, and other Federal agencies. Both manage investments in five program areas, each of which focuses on a specific component of DoD’s environmental responsibilities—Energy and Water, Environmental Restoration, Munitions Response, Resource Conservation and Climate Change, and Weapons Systems and Platforms. Achieving sustainable solutions in all five areas is essential to improve environmental performance, reduce costs, and enhance mission capabilities. They are independent programs managed from a joint office to coordinate the full spectrum of efforts, from basic and applied research to field demonstration and validation. SERDP is DoD’s environmental science and technology program, planned and executed in partnership with DOE and EPA, with participation by numerous other federal and nonfederal organizations. The Program focuses on cross-service requirements and pursues solutions to the Department’s environmental challenges while enhancing and sustaining military readiness. ESTCP is DoD’s environmental technology demonstration and validation program. The Program’s goal is to identify and demonstrate the most promising innovative and cost-effective technologies and methods that address DoD’s high-priority environmental requirements. Projects conduct formal demonstrations at DoD facilities and sites in operational settings to document and validate improved performance and cost savings. Demonstration results are subject to rigorous technical reviews to ensure that the conclusions are accurate and well supported by data. www.serdp-estcp.org
