Aberdeen, MD—A Battelle led team was awarded a $333 million, five-year contract to support the U.S. efforts to help protect our military from CBRN threats, Battelle announced today.

Battelle, as prime contractor, will manage the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for CBRN Defense Systems program which provides logistical support to the FOX NBC Reconnaissance Vehicle and all fielded biological detection systems to include the JBPDS, JPS, JBSDS, and the P3I BIDS.  The Battelle team includes General Dynamics, ALOG, Lockheed Martin, Sentel, ADVINT, SESI, and Odyssey.  The contract provides CLS to both systems with the intent to achieve a significant cost savings through the efficiencies of combining and consolidating the efforts.

Battelle’s National Security Global Business (NSGB) applies science and technology to solve complex technical challenges for the military services and federal agencies.  Including the operations of national laboratories, Battelle annually performs nearly $850 million in national security-related work contributing to advances in chemical and biological defense, homeland security, armor, technology refreshment, and undersea technology.

“We assembled a cost-effective global logistics team with unmatched CBRN depth and breadth to manage this program effectively and efficiently for JPM Contamination Avoidance and JPM Biological Detection,” said Steve Kelly, President of Battelle’s NSGB.  “We look forward to helping the government ensure our service men and women around the globe are protected against these real-world threats.”
