Columbus, OH, USA—Battelle, the world’s largest nonprofit, independent research and development organization, will unveil to existing and prospective customers how it is growing its science and technology capabilities, services, facilities, and expertise, in addition to presenting two Battelle Student Research Awards and a Student Travel Award at the Society of Toxicology 48th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in Baltimore, Maryland, March 15 - 19, 2009.


Battelle, which has a global reputation as one of the most well-established, premiere providers of science and technology services, will provide conference attendees the opportunity to learn more about the investments Battelle is making now to continue to advance science and accelerate the development of innovative products, services, and solutions in the areas of health and life sciences, national security, and energy. 


Battelle also will sponsor several awards.  During the Dermal Toxicology Specialty Section of the conference, the Battelle Student Research Award will be presented for the first time to two students for use in their institution’s research and development projects involving dermal toxicology.  Each student will be presented with a check for $2,500.  Battelle, in collaboration with the Hispanic Organization for Toxicologists, will also provide the third annual Student Travel Award to support the attendance of graduate and postdoctoral students of Hispanic origin and promote their career in Toxicology.
