![]() BATTELLE BECOMES A CERTIFIED SERVICE PROVIDER OF PANOMICS' QUANTIGENE® GENE EXPRESSION ASSAYS
Battelle, a leader in contract research and development for the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, recently validated and adopted Panomics QuantiGene® branched DNA technology. In addition, Battelle completed a technology transfer with Panomics to become a preferred, certified provider of QuantiGene gene expression assays for its newly introduced quantitative gene expression service offerings.
Battelle's services for QuantiGene are available for testing clients' genes of interest from a broad range of biological samples including frozen tissue, Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded Tissue (FFPE), fresh and preserved blood, and purified RNA. When appropriate, Battelle will provide these services in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
"I am truly impressed at the precision, accuracy, and ease of the QuantiGene assays," says Dr. Mark Craven, Battelle's Senior Research Scientist overseeing the technology transfer. "The partnering of Panomics and Battelle permits researchers to take advantage of the unrivaled precision and accuracy of the QuantiGene bDNA RNA quantitation assays through a service provider that can meet the needs of the scientific community."
Panomics, Inc. is a Battelle Ventures portfolio company. Battelle Ventures enhances and adds value to the companies it invests in by leveraging the technologies and expertise of Battelle, the fund's sole limited partner. In addition to the recent certification for QuantiGene products, Battelle is working toward provider certification for Panomics' QuantiGene Plex and Procarta™ multiplex protein expression profiling products. By becoming a certified provider of Panomics' products, Battelle can provide its and Panomics clients with studies in a GLP environment.
"This exciting new partnership with Battelle will allow our customers requiring GLP regulatory compliance to access our broad range of QuantiGene assays," commented George Bers, Executive Vice President of commercial operations at Panomics. "QuantiGene gene expression assays are rapidly gaining adoption in drug development clinical trials and it has become increasingly important to provide a 'best in class' outsourcing option to our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. In Battelle we have an ideal partner to deliver these services to our customers."
Panomics is a privately-held life science company focused on Parallel Quantitative Biology (PQB), a platform of reagents and products that enable the multiplex measurement of molecular events, such as intracellular pathway analysis, cell signaling, and gene expression profiling, in a quantitative and scalable manner. Panomics has grown rapidly on the value of QuantiGene and QuantiGene Plex, its proprietary bDNA technology for gene expression analysis. Recently introduced, the QuantiGene 2.0 and QuantiGene Plex 2.0 products build on this by delivering orders of magnitude gains in sensitivity making QuantiGene the most flexible, accurate, precise, and sensitive gene expression platform available. Panomics recently added SH2 domains to its existing Cytokine and Transcription Factor assays for its Procarta protein expression profiling products which utilize the Luminex XMAP platform. This addition makes Panomics' Procarta portfolio the most highly differentiated and unique multiplex protein menu available in the market today. Panomics (formerly Genospectra) was founded in 2000 and is based in Fremont, CA. For further information, log on to www.panomics.com
